Daniel Lasso-Jaramillo

Visiting Scholar

Daniel Lasso Jaramillo serves as a Visiting Scholar and Pre-Doctoral Fellow in the Harvard University Department of Economics.

He brings a strong background in applied econometrics, quantitative spatial modeling, development economics, and data science. Prior to joining Harvard, he worked as a Short-Term Consultant for the World Bank’s Development Research Group, focusing on trade analysis, causal inference, and spatial models. He has also served as a research assistant at the Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes), supporting projects on taxation, public goods, migration, and economic history.

In addition to his academic research, he has professional experience in the private sector as a Senior Data Scientist at Quantil, where he applied machine learning and advanced analytics to algorithmic fairness, risk segmentation, and tax compliance. He holds extensive teaching experience in data analysis, advanced econometrics, and economic history.
