Abhishek Arora is a PhD Student in Economics at Harvard University. He is interested in topics related to Development, Political Economy, and Deep Learning. Previously, he worked with Prof. Melissa Dell as a pre-doctoral fellow at Harvard on projects that involved the use of cutting-edge Natural Language Processing and vision techniques to analyse novel datasets.  He was a consultant at the World Bank working as a Research Assistant with Dr. Vijayendra Rao, Dr. Siddharth George and Dr. M. R. Sharan on projects related to decentralization and local self-government in India.   

He has also worked as a Research Assistant with Dr. Farzana Afridi and Dr. Kanika Mahajan on projects related to female labor force participation, marriage markets, and access to cooking fuels in India. He has also worked with economists and political scientists from Harvard University, New York University, Northwestern University, Delhi School of Economics, King’s College London, and Michigan State University on different projects.    

Abhishek received his master's degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics and his bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University. His research interests focus on Political Economy, Development Economics and Deep Learning.
