#  Weatherhead Center for International Affairs Names Prof. Matteo Maggiori as C. Douglas Dillon Fellow

 The Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard has named Professor Matteo Maggiori as a [C. Douglas Dillon Fellow](http://wcfia.harvard.edu/funding/faculty/semester-leaves). Prof. Maggiori will receive his fellowship award in support of a research semester leave.

 Faculty chosen for research semester leaves are recognized as Weatherhead Center Distinguished Faculty Research Associates, and tenure-track faculty recipients shall be named C. Douglas Dillon Fellows in honor of the support provided to the Center by the Dillon family. Faculty who receive these grants must have an ongoing appointment at Harvard, and they will be expected to contribute to the collective intellectual life of the Center upon their return to the University.

 Matteo Maggiori is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Harvard University. His research focuses on finance and international macroeconomics. His research topics have included the analysis of exchange rate dynamics, the international financial system, bubbles, and very long-run discount rates. He is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research affiliate at the Center for Economic Policy Research.

 His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, selected for the 2012 Review of Economic Studies May Meetings (European Tour), and won the 2013 AQR Insight Award.

 He received his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley.
