 Harvard Department of Economics Graduate Instruction Committee awarded Jiafeng Chen the David A. Wells Prize in Economics for best dissertation. The annual prize is awarded for best publishable work, embodying the results of original investigation.  
 Jiafeng Chen studies econometrics, causal inference, and statistical decision theory, hoping to develop theory and methods that are widely applicable to problems that practitioners face. His dissertation studies various formal considerations underlying choices of statistical procedures in three distinct economic settings. Chen will join Stanford University in the fall, initially as a postdoctoral fellow, then as an assistant professor.
