The Harvard University Department of Economics is delighted to announce that Professor Ludwig Straub has been awarded the John Bates Clark Medal by the American Economic Association.

The Clark Medal is awarded annually to an economist under the age of forty whose work has made a significant contribution to the field. It is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honors in economics.

Straub’s research focuses on macroeconomics, with particular emphasis on inequality, interest rates, and the behavior of heterogeneous agents. His work has contributed to a better understanding of long-run economic trends and the distributional forces that shape them.

This recognition places Straub among a distinguished group of economists whose early-career research has had a lasting impact on the discipline.
