Economics Undergraduate Advising

Advising Resources

The concentration advising team is made up of 2 full time staff members (Drs. Kiran Gajwani and  Anne LeBrun) and 2 graduate students. The concentration advisors can sign your study card, drop/add forms, change of concentration forms, and so on. More importantly, they will help you understand your departmental requirements, discuss your academic interests, and offer advice on course choices. You may also discuss your future plans, such as graduate or professional school. Resident tutors CANNOT sign forms for the concentration but  can offer informal advice about concentration requirements and expectations.  Please identify and make contact with your assigned econ advisor.  You can certainly expect that she will make many attempts to contact you and meet with you over the course of your tenure in the department.  Take advantage of this relationship! The Economics Department also offers advising to Applied Math students on the Econ track.  Please see any concentration advisor in Littauer for Applied Math advising and study card signing.

Each concentrator has an advisor assigned by house. For example, all economics concentrators in Adams House have the same advisor. The concentration advisors for 2012-2013 are:

  • Adams, Lowell, and Quincy Houses: Anne Lebrun
  • Pforzheimer, Cabot, and Currier Houses: Kiran Gajwani
  • Dunseter, Dudley, Leverett and Mather Houses: Olga Rostapshova
  • Eliot, Kirkland and Winthrop Houses: Crystal Yang

You may contact your advisor for help or information at any time.

In addition, the advisors hold walk-in advising office hours, open to all concentrators, in the Economics Undergraduate Office in Littauer 111-115 (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm). No appointment is needed.  The Spring 2013 Office Hours schedule is:

Economics House Tutors
Economics house tutors are graduate students in the Economics Department who are appointed by the house masters as resident or nonresident tutors. House tutors contribute to house life by serving on committees and helping to organize events for residents. Those designated as economics tutors can also give you informal concentration advice.
