Benmelech Receives 2011 Top Prize From Brattle Group
Professor Efraim Benmelech of the Harvard Department of Economics has been awarded the 2011 Brattle Group first prize for the best corporate finance paper published in the Journal of Finance.
The prize was awarded for the paper “Bankruptcy and the Collateral Channel” which studies the externalities that bankrupt firms impose on each other. The paper is available at: http://www.economics.harvard.edu/faculty/benmelech/files/jofi_1636.pdf.
The Brattle Group prizes are awarded annually for outstanding papers on corporate finance. The winning papers are chosen by the Associate Editors of the Journal of Finance. The prizes are awarded at the American Finance Association’s annual meeting by representatives of the Brattle Group.
