NYABE Presents 2008 Butler Award to Martin Feldstein

The New York Association for Business Economists will present its annual William F. Butler award to Professor Martin Feldstein at a luncheon on October 14, 2008. Dr. Feldstein will speak on the timely topic, “Dealing with the Financial Crisis.”

Martin Feldstein is the George F. Baker Professor of Economics at Harvard University and is also President Emeritus of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He has served as President Regan’s chief economic advisor and, in 2006, President Bush appointed him to the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. He also served as the President of the American Economic Association in 2004. He is an economic advisor to several businesses and government organizations in the United States and abroad and is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal.

The William F. Butler award is presented annually to a distinguished business economist in memory of its namesake. The award was established in 1972 in honor of then recently deceased Dr. Butler. The award commemorates Dr. Butler’s founding both of the NABE and the NYABE as well as his leadership in the field of business economics.

The NYABE is an association of professionals who have an interest in business economics. It has approximately 200 members, affiliated with more than 100 businesses and other organizations in New York City and the surrounding area.
